Amtrak Ticket Refund Policy (Reseller Terms)

As a trusted third-party reseller for Amtrak tickets, we are committed to making the refund and cancellation process as clear as possible for you.
Please read the following carefully to understand your options and how we handle refunds.

1. Fare Type and Amtrak Refund Rules Apply

Since we sell official Amtrak tickets, any refund or cancellation is based on Amtrak’s refund and cancellation policy.
Whether you can get a refund depends on the type of fare you bought (like flexible, value, or multi-ride pass) and when you ask for a cancellation or change.
Once a ticket is issued, its rules, including whether it can be refunded, follow the fare conditions printed on the ticket.

2. When Refunds Are Allowed

Depending on the fare you purchased, refunds might be allowed under certain conditions:
Flexible (Flex) Fares: These tickets usually allow a full refund or change without extra charges if you cancel before the trip starts.
Value / Non-Flexible Fares: Some refunds may be allowed — either as a partial refund or an eVoucher — depending on how early you cancel and other terms that apply to your fare.
Multi-Ride Passes / Monthly Passes / Special Tickets: Refunds or exchanges may only be available under specific conditions, such as before the first ride, before the pass starts, or within a certain time period.
Illness or Special Circumstances: If you cancel because of illness (with a doctor’s note), Amtrak might waive usual cancellation or change charges.

3. How Refunds Are Processed

Refunds (or eVouchers) are handled by Amtrak, not by us directly, because the ticket is an official Amtrak fare.
Eligible refunds are usually returned to the original payment method if possible.
In some cases, like when you paid with a gift card or certain fare types, the refund may be given as an eVoucher instead of cash or credit.
For paper tickets that have been printed, you must return the original ticket to get a refund.

4. Limitations and Non-Refundable Situations

Some fare types, like heavily discounted or special fares (Saver/Promo), may not be refundable or only refundable under very specific conditions.
If travel has already started or part of the trip was used, refunds for the remaining part might not be allowed.
Any refund amount will be calculated after subtracting the value of the part of the trip that was already taken.
If you board the wrong train, leave early, or change your accommodation without proper authorization during the trip, no refund or exchange will be provided.
Refunds are not guaranteed, as they depend on Amtrak’s final approval and fare rules.

5. Our Role as a Reseller

Since you bought your ticket through us:
We will send your refund or cancellation request to Amtrak for you, but the final decision about the refund amount, how it is given back, or whether it is approved is up to Amtrak
We will help you with the process by providing support, explanations, and contact information, but we cannot change the fare rules or guarantee a result
Any service, convenience, or processing fees we charge at the time of booking may not be refundable, unless stated otherwise at the time of purchase

6. How to Request a Refund or Cancellation

To request a refund or cancel your booking, please contact us (via email: reservation@issuancedesk.com / phone: +1-844-449-8372) with your booking reference, passenger names, fare type, and reason for cancellation.
We will then communicate with Amtrak on your behalf.
Once Amtrak processes the request, you will be informed and the refund (or eVoucher) will be issued according to Amtrak’s policy.

7. Note and Disclaimer

Because Amtrak’s fare and refund rules can change over time, the rules mentioned above are based on the current policy as posted on Amtrak’s website.
We recommend checking the fare rules on your ticket and contacting us (or Amtrak directly) if you have any questions before requesting a cancellation or refund.
